Mt. Carmel ends Lady Dogs’ season

The very successful season for the Lady Bulldog volleyball team came to an end in the quarterfinals of the LHSAA state playoffs when they fell to defending state champs Mt. Carmel of New Orleans.

The 3-0 loss to the Lady Cubs meant BRHS finished the season with a record of 29-13 They were ranked ninth in the final Division I power ratings.

Set scores for the quarterfinal game at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner were 25-9, 25-15 and 25-13.

Coach Dayna Kohn was pleased with her team’s performance in the quarterfinals and throughout the season.

“We fought hard against a tough opponent in Mt. Carmel,” she said. “Just breaking through a 21-year gap to get to the Pontchartrain Center with the eight top teams in our division is a huge accomplishment.

“I’m so proud of the team we had. We had great leadership, and fantastic teammates. I love them all,” she said.
