The boys and girls swims had a good showing in the State Championship meet. It was held at Sulphur’s at SPAR Aquatics. Every girl who competed individually finished in the top 16 or top eighth.

Nora Scott finished second in the 50m freestyle and third in the 100m freestyle. Overall, the girls finished fifth as a team behind St. Joseph, Mount Carmel, Mandeville, and Northshore.

For the boys, Jack Penniman finished second in both the 50m freestyle and 100m butterfly. The boys 200m freestyle relay team of Jack Penniman, Michael Joshua, Eric Wang, and Dylan Oquin finished third.

Coach Margaret Hall was very proud of all of her competitors at state.

“We have a very young team this year and I was extremely impressed with the performance of the team. The girls did really well especially over schools such as Dominica.” Hall expects her team to be stronger and better next year.
