The BRHS boys and girls varsity soccer teams have started the soccer season.

The boys have lost seven games out of eight so far, and Co-captain Kevyn Pham attributes the losses to a combination of poor chemistry on the field and small mistakes.

Although they haven’t won many games, the players are enjoying their time together.

“They play their hearts out. I’m truly happy being out there in the field with them,” Pham said.

Meanwhile, the girls varsity team opened the season by winning three games, tying four, and losing two.

Their strengths this season include a strong defensive line and fast players.

“Our defense is awesome. We just need to work on our rhythm and finishing chances,” said senior Mia Minor.

In class the girls get to know each other better in 7th hour P.E., but the team as a whole hasn’t had a team bonding event.

“Team bonding can help us communicate better on the field,” said senior co-caption Cassandra Navarro.

Navarro says the team is still working hard to improve and be the best they can.
